Naomi Vides Elected 2016-17 Sports Federation President
Many congratulations to Naomi Vides, member and former captain and president of OUSC, for being elected to the post of president of Oxford Sports Fed!
Speaking of her goals for this role Naomi said:
“I’m incredibly excited to have been elected the 2016-17 Sports Federation President. I really believe that Oxford don’t have to be “just okay” at sport because we’re an academic university. What I hope to achieve in my year in the role is for committees of sports clubs to feel able and inspired to affect change within their clubs. From my side, I want to facilitate interclub communication to allow clubs to share advice and ideas, streamline admin so students aren’t bogged down by emails, and improve the handover system so that there is increased continuity between years and long term changes can be made. Sport at Oxford means a lot to me, it’s probably been the biggest part of my time here, and I believe that it’s really important that it continues to develop and grow.”
Well done Naomi and let’s hope that we can continue to increase the influence of swimming in Oxford sport as a whole!
