OUSC come 7th in BUCS Team Championship Final 2014
On 22nd March; a small squad of 11 swimmers traveled up to Ponds Forge International Sports Centre in Sheffield to represent Oxford in the BUCS Team Swimming Championship Final. The Oxford results are published below, but for full results please visit the BUCS website.
There were lots of great swims – in particular Matthew Courtis and Holly Winfield obtained new best times in the 100m IM, with Matt breaking the 1 minute barrier for the first time! Rachel Andvig and James Jurkiewicz also both swam best times for 50m Backstroke.
The highest position achieved by an Oxford swimmer in the meet was Jack Marriott’s 24.27 50m Butterfly which secured him second place. He also came 3rd in the 100 Fly.
Overall, the team came 7th in division one against some very strong teams.
